Brian McGinty - Underwriter

Brian is a Washington State native and spends most of his free time enjoying the great outdoors with his wife.

Brian’s career path started in retail store management. But after four years of retail madness he decided a change of pace was in order and he accidentally got involved in aviation insurance. “ I answered a help wanted ad from the newspaper and had no idea what type of business it was.” Brian started work at AVEMCO Insurance Company’s Seattle office in 1990 where he learned the ropes and got to know pilots and their needs. It was there that he earned his Property, Casualty and Disability licenses. In 1998 Brian joined London Aviation Underwriters, Inc. It was through the tutelage of the diverse underwriting staff at LAU that Brian’s career has taken form. In addition to Brian’s underwriting duties he is also the liaison between the IT department and the underwriters. The IT department refers to Brian as their universal translator.

When Brian is not underwriting he can be found hiking in the Cascade Mountains, upgrading his home computer, playing guitar, or dabbling in photography.
