Gayle A. Charlesworth - Administrative Vice President

Gayle was born in Tennessee and graduated from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. Her aviation insurance career began in 1975 when she was employed at Aetna Cravens Dargan in Seattle as an underwriting assistant. She was subsequently employed by Corroon & Black in 1978 to assist with Aviation marketing for their four Alaska offices.

In 1980, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska to work with RBH in their aviation department as an account executive. She soon became active in the Alaska Air Carriers Association and the Alaska Aviation Safety Foundation. Gayle and Michael together organized a visit to London in April of 1981, for representatives of these key organizations to meet with London underwriters both at Lloyd's and at various companies.

She moved to England, with her two sons, in 1982 and worked with London brokers at Chandler Hargreaves, and later at Lowndes Lambert Group. Gayle joined LAU in September 1991. Her responsibilities include administration, personnel and public relations; as well as Producer liaison. She has been the President of the Northwest Aviation Insurance Association as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alaska Air Carriers Association. She is also a licensed Surplus Lines Broker in Washington and Alaska.
